Hidden Gem in Georgetown, CT- The Olive Market

I have been to this charming little South American Bistro quite a few times in the last few months, and have never been disappointed.
They have a variety of breakfast/brunch offerings-I have had Uruguayan- style French toast, breakfast burritos and Eggs in a Basket- all were absolutely delicious, inventive and well-executed.
For lunch, I have had the Stonewall Burger (cooked perfectly med- rare, as requested, and served with Stonewall Kitchens onion jam and cheddar cheese); Empanadas filled creatively and prepared perfectly, served with a delicious salsa verde and traditional salsa; Lump crab salad- simply YUM in it's avocado vessel; The "German"- what might otherwise be a plain old ham and cheese sandwich, shines when prepared with outstanding quality meat, cheese and bread; and last but not least, what has become my favorite Olive Market lunch - the Cubano (the roasted pork is TO DIE FOR). (BTW- fries are fantastic- I have only had the regular frites, but they also offer sweet potato frites or side salad as accompaniment to sandwiches).
For dinner, I've had fondue ( I don't think I've ever had bad fondue anywhere, and Olive Market is no exception) and guacamole as apps- both are stellar. Mains have been one Tapas tray or another- El Mar is mostly seafood, El Gaucho is mostly meats, and The World is some of both- everything is so flavorful and prepared with such care. I've never had a bite that was overcooked or anything less than delicious and well-seasoned. I don't recall ever being tempted to add salt or pepper. The stuffed mushrooms should be their own food group- I think I could live on them. Tapas also include delicious churros served with dulce de leche, and I always have to force at least 1 down, because they are so good, but I never really have room for them.
The menu is extensive, and I will get around to everything eventually!
They offer a variety of wines- mostly South American and Spanish, and make their own Sangria- haven't tried the red, but the white is delicious.
Service is friendly and efficient. Owner Fernando is a doll, as is Patty, the main server.
If I hadn't been posting on this board for years, you might think I have some financial interest in The Olive Market, but my only interest is to keep them open so I can keep going there!
