Rotisserie Turkey - Large Bird
I have done up to 14 lb. turkeys on a gas grill rotisserie and the results were some of my all time favorite turkeys. My friends gas grill rotisserie can turn up to 50 lbs. of weight. Has anyone ever done a 22 lb. bird or is this too large. Would appreciate any help.
I've turned a whole steer on a rotisserie without difficulty. Just takes a lot of heat and patients. A 22 pound bird would be no challenge at all. Just remember, time/temperature/consistency of heat source/distance from the heat source/rotational speed/basting. How long will it take? All of those factors come into play.
