Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs - Airdrie

I didn't really have any expectations going in and overall I was impressed. Their dogs were delicious. Liked the fries too, good shape, could taste the potato and not just the oil. All the condiments were what you would expect. Does anyone think when they order processed cheese sauce it's going to be amazing? I don't really get the hate for something that doesn't pretend to be anything but a tasty hot dog. Now the 5 Guys two doors down, that disappointed me because it was touted as being the greatest thing since sliced bread and it was completely mediocre.

Anyway, hadn't seen a whole lot on the boards. I'm in Airdrie once in a while and will probably stop again and try their chicago dog.

  1. I spent many years in Airdrie and I hadn't thought of a hot dog as being a meal.
The other two close restaurantsare my favourites for fast food. I do love 5 Guys and I have eaten at Swiss Chalet since they were founded in Toronto in 1955.
Does this now mean I may try a Nathan's Hot Dog? I'll give it a try.

Well I finally made it! I keep hearing about Nathan's Hot Dogs and wanted to give it a try as I was in a hurry for a quick lunch. I was surprized how long it took to get my dog. There were a few other patrons in there when I went yesterday. I have to say I wasn't overly impressed and amazed anyone can consider a hotdog as a meal.
I had the NY with sauerkrout and it cost $4. Afterwards I went to Safeway and they had packages of Nathans on for $5 as a Friday special. I never bought any because I think it is just hype.
