Where to find Turkish Perde Pilavi

BBB Nov 22, 2011 06:02 PM

I had the most amazing Turkish food on a vacation to Istanbul, hoping to find something to scratch my itch in LA...specifically Perde Pilavi. It's a rice dish with chicken and currants wrapped up in a delicious pastry shell. I've searched the boards with no luck. Anyone know of a place that has this dish? Thanks!

While I doubt the dish you are concerned with is on the menu, I would call and ask at Mezze on La Cienega, meaning Micah Wexler, where he might find it, or if he might put it on the menu.
He is a very good chef, knows the Turkish cuisine very well, and might at least provide you with a starting point in your search.
