ISO of Fresh Clams

I'm looking to buy super-fresh, best-quality-possible clams. Where should I go?

Prefer somewhere Mid-City, Hollywood, or west of there. South to LAX is also fine.

Believe it or not when Costco has their seafood roadshow their clams are quite good. I'd also recommend The Fish King in Glendale. I recently bought 10 pounds of butter clams for a party and only discarded three - clams,not pounds. Really. Pricier than Costco, but great quality.

I havent tried the clams at costco but last time i bought mussels from them, i had to throw half of them out.

I've had trouble with mussels lately as well - even from The Fish King. Never had trouble with clams from Costco.
