Burrata?

Hi all! Anyone know where I can find good Burrata in the Bethesda/DC area? Shipment days? (it goes like hot cakes here in NYC stores that carry it, so it requires stalking!)

Costco (Pentagon City) sells a passable burrata. Not as good as you'll find at a better Italian restaurant. But it suits our home use just fine.

The Fromagerie in Old Town Alexandria has it from time to time (http://lafromagerieonline.com/) and maybe Cheestique in Del Ray (http://cheesetique.com/).

Cowgirl Creamery gets their burrata flown in from Puglia (I think). I believe they would have it flown in once or twice a week. I recall it arriving on Friday mornings. They mentioned at the time (I last picked it up in the summer) that it is seasonal though, so you might want to check with them. Absolutely delicious though - really the best burrata I've had.

if you want to eat burrata di bufala (water buffalo burrata), you can get it on a platter at pupatella in arlington, thursday, friday, saturday only. flown in fresh (very perishable) from naples, italy. the platter has their fabulous house-made panini bread, arugula or basil, evoo, cherry tomatoes and prosciutto.

            highly recommended.

I'm not sure where you can buy it, but I know where you can order it with a perfect preparation: Dino or Obelisk.
