Christmas Lunch for 20 in Newport/Tustin/Orange area..upscale atmosphere and excellent food...does it exist?
We are doing a Christmas Lunch for our office. We have been to Canaletto's and Ruth Chris.
We would like to try another place for lunch and we would like it to be close to our office in
Tustin...we can go to Newport. Any suggestions? We don't want to be rushed, we want an upscale atmosphere and food that is memorable..any suggestions?

Charile Palmers at South Coast has an excellent lunch menu, with a 3 course deal at about $20pp. The dining room is very nice and the menu changes weekly. Right across from them is AnQi, which is Asian fusion, though I have not been.
For a little twist, you could try Broudard Chateau. It is upscale Vietnamese with a French influences and is nice inside.
Off the end of the 55 is the Golden Truffle, kind of French via the Caribbean.
Brasserie Pascal at Fashion Island is nice and the food is good.

I will add one other option, though you may dismiss it just because of the location. There is a surprisingly good Italian place, DaVinci, right over the 55 on 1st Street. It is attached to a slightly seedy looking motel, but do not judge the restaurant by the motel. I have been on a few occasions where we wanted an upscale lunch that is walking distance from my office.
