ISO fresh venison

Taking a break from turkey thoughts to search for a fresh venison.

Where's the best butcher or grocer to find venison in the Bay Area? I can only seem to find Bud's Custom Meats (too far away).

Thanks in advance -

As an update, they killed two more Wednesday morning to have enough for Thanksgiving. I personally have trouble even deboning the turkey thigh I bought, since I live a semi-vegitarian life, so the thought of them killing two does for backstrap isn't good.

I used to live on Sonoma Mountain and so Bud's was just below me. Passed it every day. I'm shocked you are having trouble finding fresh venison, since I now live in Texas and we have an overabundance of deer here. The state is actually encouraging hunters to kill as many as they can! My co-worker is killing and cooking every weekend here. Guess you will just have to make a trip to Texas!

Polarica in SF sold me some frozen venison stew meat in August. That was hard enough to come by, so best of luck finding fresh venison!
