  1. i went once and the ice cream is good quality- not a huge v ariety of flavors though... my parents went back and they said the service was so horrible they wouldn't return (were overcharged, etc.)... blue pig is right down the road from me so I wouldn't schlep all the way back there until I heard they've gotten their act together. It's also a really odd location... seems like most of those big buildings aren't occupied. It is nice that you can walk to the riverfront promenade with your ice cream though.

And if you're willing to shlep for great gelato, go to the place adjoining the Ossining Pizzaria. Worth a trip, reasonably priced, open year 'round, great espresso/coffee too.

good to know. thanks. do you know the name of it by chance?

Yes it's called "the place adjacent to Ossining Pizzaria and Restaurant" :) Seriously, I don't think it has a separate name, they are connected through a back hallway, definitely have the same owner. Sign at the street doesn't even mention the gelato/espresso place. It's on Rte. 133, in between the Taconic and Rte. 9.

I just looked it up on Google Maps, and when you click on the little flag for Ossining Pizzaria, the photo is of the gelato freezer.

    2. I tried it and was not impressed - with the quality nor with the quantity. I've tasted much much better homemade ice cream. Not worth going back.
