What happened to Hope St. Cafe?

It looks like they're tearing down or renovating the building in Forest Hill Village - is it gone for good?

Hope st was one of my favourite places for a quick, easy dinner or lunch! I live right around there and walked by South Side a couple weeks ago and saw one of those Rogers notices to pay a bill.. They've been closed since then.

Hope St. and South Side were owned by the same person - seems like maybe they spread their wings too far with the two restos.

Sigh.

I've been wondering about this for months. South Side wasn't looking particularly open either last weekend. With the Village Restaurant gone, and the Village Idiot long gone, the prospects for comfort eating seem to be getting slimmer. I'm happy Mashu Mashu is still standing!
