Hi,

Boars Head spiced ham shaved is chipped ham.

I had read chipped ham is a spiced ham . . . so when I saw Boars head oval spiced ham in the deli case of my Stop and Shop I had to give it a try. It was like being home in Pittsburgh. The look of the boars head is a little different, looks like a finer grind. But I made ham BBQs and enjoyed a taste of home.

Ask for it shaved because I don't think many deli's understand what we mean by chopped.

Enjoy

Thanks for the tip; I haven't had chipped ham in years! My parents are both from western PA (Ellwood City), so we always had chipped ham whenever we were visiting relatives.
