Beaujolais Nouveau 2011 party at Kermit Lynch, Berkeley report
Went on Sat 11/19/11 to the Beaujolais Nouveau party in the parking lot where Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Acme Bread, & Cafe Fanny are. They had huge tents w/ tables & chairs for people to eat set up in their parking lot. They had some kind of sausage w/ some potatoes & sauerkraut for $15 - I thought it was small & not a good bargain.
They had some tastings of their Beaujolais Nouveau wines - I tasted one, it was ok for me. B. didn't think it was anything either. He liked the champagne Grande Reserve Brut instead so we bought a few bottles. Regular price $47, on sale $39.95, two bottles was $79.90 + $6.99 tax = $86.89.
Inside the store tons of wines - ask for help & they will help you. Beaujolais Nouveau was $19.95/bottle. At least one unisex bathroom to use.
Cafe Fanny had a dessert table:
Hazelnut chocolate chip cookie $2ea- I thought it was just ok.
Chocolate nib torte - looked great, but $6/slice passed.
raspberry galette- $6/slice - passed
Inside their shop I got a Cafe Au Lait - $3.95/bowl - was nice.
Berry Clofouti $5.50/slice - tasty. Light & eggy w/ lots of blackberries.
Acme - sign said Pumpkin Bread is available - Seasonal item. Didn't buy, long was long.
Anyone else go?
