Hi All...going to be in the area next week..want to grab a quick bite with friends, so many places, any suggestions? Shawarma Max is near there (never been), any others or is that the best bet?

  1. I like Shawarma Max personally. I don't think there are any other places you can go, as the closest places are a Shawarma Max location south of NYC and one north of NYC.

There's a Iranian kebab place on Spring Garden and another Shawarma Place north of Church Ave, a pretty far walk away, and that's pretty much it for the area.

    1. Shawarma Max isn't too bad but there are a few other places in the area that serve pretty good food. Altona Kabab further up north just after Yonge and Finch has good food. If you want to eat Asian food there's Ajisen Ramen and the Owl of Minerva around there too.

      1. If you don't want Korean, there are surprisingly few noteworthy places to eat in the area. Given the amount of restaurants in the area, one would think otherwise. Shawarma Max is as good as you get for Shawarma in the area. It is certainly better than the one north of Church or in the basement of the North York Centre.

For Korean, walk towards Finch for Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu Korean Restaurant or said Owl of Minerva. Thai Bistro is pretty basic Thai food but only a block north.

        1. Going to see American Idiot and looking for chowish food in the area...I take it that Asian Legend isn't that great? My friend is vegetarian (to remain kosher).
