Just a reminder Peconic bay scallops are being harvested. There is a fair catch coming in on east end of Long Island

I've been through three pounds for my family and brought three more for friends so far. So delicious...

I get them at Braun's in Cutchogue or Southold Fish Market in, you guessed it, Southold. $17 a lb. on Saturday.

There is a spot, not a storefront, in Flanders I believe, on the south side of 24 that regularly sells seafood. I know I bought PB scallops from him a few years ago. I've seen roadside signs popping up on the North & South Forks.

That roadside stand on Rt 24 is great. I think they are only open Fri-Sat-Sun about noon.

Sometimes one of the guys (Phil) sets up on Rt 58 across from the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Good stuff, I get blue crabs from these guys during the season. Love supporting the local baymen.

I've bought from the vendor on Rt 24 many times because he's across the street from my friends' place. It's hit or miss. I've gotten decent stuff and bad stuff. My advice is get what you want not what he's pushing.

I wish there was a place to get them in Westchester. I remember having them some years ago when they first began harvesting them again, and I was blown away by how delicious they were.
