Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

The Water Club

Has anyone been recently? I am looking for a bday spot with my family - top tier reservations are hard to come by, but there is a lot of availabiliy at The Water Club. Menu and service seem good - but some level of scene would be great.

Any comments are much appreciated.

  1. It was a scene 20 or so years ago. Last time I went about 3 years ago. It was nothing special. Decent food with the crowd mostly out of towners. Best thing about the place is the location on the water, but for that I prefer the River Cafe. I think lots of available reservations means lack of a scene.

      "Decent food with the crowd mostly out of towners" - I went to Water Club in the beginning of this year and that's exactly how I would describe it. Nothing trendy or scene-y about it. The bartender did make a great cocktail though.
