Need Carrot Cake [DTW]

I am craving carrot cake. So; yesterday I visited Fox & Hounds ... and
was advised they don't make carrot cakes. I'm thinking that I can do
better than Kroger/CostCo/Sams.

Anyone?

Mitchell's Seafood Restaurant has very good carrot cake.... and an order is HUGE!.

If you didn't want a whole cake, this might be a good way to go.... get a carry-out if you don't want to eat there.

Saw a carrot cake today at Achatz - 8" square w/cream cheese frosting. I'm not a big carrot cake fan, but I've certainly enjoyed all their other baked goods. Got to be better than the chain stores.

OMG this is my very favorite recipe for Carrot Cake. I make it every chance I get. Sometimes muffins and I make lots of substitutions as I go along..such as.. Pecans for Macadamia nuts.and ground ginger for crystalized and honey for maple syrup. It is....da bomb and easy, easy.

Trifles Cakes in White Lake on Highland Rd has the best carrot cake ever. You might want to call ahead and make sure they have one on hand or order a day or two before.

I'm sure that Ed Shogren at Chef Ed's Weekday Cafe in Eastpointe does them, but I don't think he'd be able to get to it this week. I love most of his cakes, but Carrot Cake is one that I've never cared for, no matter who makes it.
