Nemea-new Greek joint in Mamaroneck

Well, new as of last summer. Same owner as Nikos. Personal verdict-pretty good. I go to Elia in New Rochelle constantly and this doesn't lose in the comparison, with prices just slightly higher. Will repeat. Slight quibbles-service a bit too brisk (they only take a 6:30 or an 8:00 reservation so as not to interfere with their seating pattern, and once there they were just a bit TOO attentive, which gets one paranoid when one is trying to relax). $9.00 was too special for the cheapest glass of wine for this type place. During the week I will stick with Elia, but this place is a bit more dressed up, so this works better on a Saturday night. Your mileage may vary.

  1. Addict,
where do you park for this place? BPR seems to busy to parallel out front??

    1. I just made a reservation! Very excited! To answer your question, cubanat, they have a parking lot. After reading your post, I made sure to inquire.

      1. There's a small lot a few yards further up the street with a sign saying parking only for several buildings including theirs.

Thanks to you both! the building looks neat I just have to get there. Let us know how it is...

        2. Last night, I tried to call to switch the time of our reservation for this Saturday night and there was no answer. Today, I saw a press release announcing that the Kringas brothers have sold their stake in Nemea to the other Nemea partners. Anybody know what's going on? Should I bag my reservation for this weekend?

          1. Visting from the Boston board- had dinner at Nemea last night with my folks, who live in Mam'k. We loved it!! The hummus/tatziki/taramosalata dips were excellent. I had the baby arugula salad with grilled haloumi, simple lemon and oil dressing and liked it so much I finished my mom's portion. Hubby had the spanakopita and raved about it, the gyro was excellent, my dad got grilled shrimp and I noticed a very clean plate in front of him. All in all, I'm scheming to go back again before we leave.

My hubby wants to point out that while he loved the food, service was a bit slow.
