BURGER IN DOWNTOWN SEATTLE
i've never been much of a burger person and so have no idea where to take a visiting friend who has requested one - 5 minute stroll from westlake park - good burger, good bun, good fries - extra points for good onion rings - he's in recovery so beverages are immaterial - sports bar, hotel, steak house, whatever - thanks!

Yes! Nordstrom Grill (in the men's department, NOT the Cafe on the 4th floor) is the great dark horse of the Seattle burger race.
I'd say it's up there neck and neck with Local 360, with Two Bells and Palace Kitchen fighting for 3rd.

Howard 1st, I would read through this thread on best SEA burgers;
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/731775.
for purposes of '5 minute stroll from Westlake', you might want to take your guest to Two Bells, tho I cannot say of the fries or onion rings - have only had the burger. I like myself a truly pink burger, and will second comments from this thread that thier burger is cooked properly to order, and bun and meat, etc. are in proper proportion and texture:) Yum!›4 Replies-

I'm pretty sure Two Bells doesn't offer fries, and I'm guessing no onion rings either. I seem to remember the baked beans are good. The burger certainly is.
Local 360 may be farther than 5 min. but not by a lot. They have been known to make my favorite Seattle burger so far...then again, last time we were there they overcooked the burgers (still tasty, but disappointing) and the service was HORRIBLE. Good fries, tho''.
One of these days I'm gonna try one of those Palace Kitchen burgers....

What? They are closing the retail shop but not the restaurant. http://seattle.eater.com/archives/201...

i think the burger at Palace Kitchen is awesome ... I think there might be a burger on the bar menu at Dahlia at dinner & it’s yummy too ... both are an easy walk from Westlake. Burgers are somewhat ubiquitous now but the Palace remains one of my favs in town
