Just discovered a great store in Westlake Village...they sell high quality flavored oils, vinegars, liqueurs, whisky, wine, and other spirits. Best part is you get to taste them before you buy...I may or may not have gotten a little warm after trying some of the spirits :)

Anyway, love the concept because I was able to choose the size I needed...bought some delicious garlic herb, rosemary, chili, and hazelnut oil. It was hard to decide which ones I wanted to buy first! Mmm and the vinegars tasted great too.

Really nice layout and nice people who work there. Very knowledgeable about the oils and vinegars. Just wanted to spread the word to fellow CHs, check it out if you are in the area.

I agree with your write-up. I have purchased assorted oils here as gifts and found them to be very helpful.

Although I did not taste anything, I like that they can and will create a gift package that works for the occasion. This means that I am not locked into any pre-packaged or pre-priced items. I can run in and buy something for $10 or I can buy something for $40. Vom Fass serves me well as a last-minute gift stop!

I stopped into Vom Fass last week and finished up all my holiday shopping, what a relief! I created a little package for my secretary, which included the truffle oil, calamansi vinegar (both to die for), and chili oil...threw in a little bottle of rum for fun. Gave it to her yesterday and she was ecstatic! Also purchased a pre-made set of mango vinegar, avocado and pumpkin oil for our Secret Santa gift exchange for a holiday party...the recipient was thrilled and I was dying to her tell her it was from me...

I love Vom Fass, saved me the headache of looking for nice and creative gifts this year....and my new obsession this week is the truffle oil dipped with pieces of cracked olive bread from a local bakery.

As I posted, I like Vom Fass a lot. I am glad that you had an equally positive experience.

The problem is that when I buy gifts there, I want them for myself! What I like most is what you did: you can create any size/price gift for any occasion...and walk away feeling like you have a "great" gift.
