Where to get fresh squeezed orange juice in Austin?

Like the title says. When the Walmart in Round Rock first opened they had fresh squeezed oj, and we bought that until they discontinued it (must have been something they were trying for the new store). Anyway I have not seen any to buy since that time. I usually buy Simply Orange or Florida's Best but fresh squeezed is so much better. And no I don't want to make my own, I've tried and it is more work than I am willing to put into it.

Some place in north Austin would be great but if not then I will go elsewhere.

  1. I think most Jamba Juice places has fresh squeeze OJ, and I think I saw a machine at Whole Foods Downtown.

    1. i've purchased fresh squeezed juices from central market in the past, but haven't been in a while.
since it is closer to you in round rock, call over to sprouts.

other than that, i know the whole foods mother ship has it.
oh, and daily juice used to, not sure about now...

      1. Chuy's Panderia on Ohlen Rd will squeeze a glass for you while you wait. It's not cheap, but it's tasty and makes a great addition to one of their breakfast tortas, jalapeno sausage rolls or fresh bakery sweets.

        1. Thanks for the replies everybody. I should have been more clear that I am looking for juice by the carton/bottle/jug, not by the glass. I will try Whole Foods, Sprouts, and maybe Central Market.

After Good Flow got knocked a couple of years ago for the lack of pasteurization of their fresh juices, a lot of the local suppliers stopped bottling the large quantities you are looking for . I know that the S. Central Market still carries fresh OJ in the 1qt size. "Fresh squeezed juice" is still on the health department's hit list, like eggs were a few years ago (anyone else work in a restaurant and remember this?)

I think the new HEB brand of orange juice in the 59oz carton is the best fresh non-reconstituted juice available in Austin. Several versions to choose from for $2.50/gallon - better than Simply Orange and Florida's Best. I'm sure it depends on the season. But I have drank more HEB OJ in the last 4 months than I have all OJ in the last 5 years. For some reason they seem to be overstocked and running specials on it often - including $.50 half gallons on expiration date (I picked up 6 of them)

I agree that the HEB orange juice is very good (esp. the version with the pulp), but I would still rate Simply Orange as a little bit better. Perhaps not enough to justify the added cost ($3.18 vs. $2.50) but sometimes I will spring for the difference. They are both far better than Florida's Finest though (or whatever it is called).
