Source for French butter

Hi. Does anyone know of a source for French butter with sea salt, preferably on Vancouver Island? Thanks.

Yes, Les Amis usually has very good quality but extremely expensive French butter, including beurre d'Echire. mmmm. Unfortunately, if you want a significant quantity of French butter, over the border is your best bet.

Interesting. Back in the summer I asked Les Amis about French butter and was told they didn't carry them due to the ridiculous tariff mentioned above. They do have a good cultured butter from somewhere in the Valley but alas no fleur de sel.

Where across the border can you get french butter?

Ottavio on Oak Bay Ave. used to regularly stock French butter. I haven't checked recently, though.

I don't think anyone imports French butter due to the 290% dairy quota/supply management duty on it. If you want to change that, tell your MP.

Correction: apparently Les Amis du Fromage or Benton Bros may sometimes carry french butters.
