Who makes the best pie on the Cape?

I want a chocolate bourbon pecan pie for the holiday, Where would you hounds go for one? (doesn't have to have all those ingredients, but it would be nice) So, Marions? Centerville Pie Co.? Michael's Creative baking? Pies Ala Mode? Somewhere else?

I used to love Creative Bakery, but they've changed hands a couple of times since the orignal owners retired, and I think the quality has declined tremendously. I would check out Pain D'Avignon. I've never had a pie there, but I've had some delicious fruit tarts.

Wasn't aware they made pies. I've never noticed one there. Thanks.

I have had the tarts at Pain D'Avignon. The crust was soggy. I love their breads sooo much, though.

Good to know, but I'm looking for a really great pie. Nobody knows of a good place to get one?

I haven't found anything I like better than my own. If you like to bake, Rose Levy Beranbaum's pecan pie in her Pie and Pastry Bible is very good. She uses Lyle's Golden Syrup instead of corn syrup, which isn't overly sweet.

P.S. We sell pies (including mine) at the Holly Fair at St. Mary's Church in Barnstable Village. It will be on December 3rd this year--but that won't get you a pie on Thanksgiving.

I will say that I have had the C'Ville Pie twice and was not overly excited. It was a fruit pie.
