Restaurant Rec for Parents

Hey there,

Im a hound for Minneapolis and am looking for a recommendation.

My parents live in central virginia (C-ville) but love to go to DC for long weekends. They are also foodies as well. I am looking to get the a gift certificate as a Christmas gift. Any recommendations? I sent them to Inn at Little Washington a couple years ago and they loved it.

They are open to any type of cuisine except seafoods.

Thanks for any recommendations.

Just adding to the list: Palena, Eola, Rogue 24, Corduroy and Fiola.

Those are definitely excellent suggestions. I did notice that you said they come for long weekends, so would also suggest Tabard Inn or perhaps the Morrison Clark, as they are lovely places to stay (and the food at Tabard is pretty darn great - if they stayed there, they should definitely get a sidecar in the lounge).

... a third vote for Komi. I'm going tonight for the second time - can't wait! It is the best meal I've had in DC, bar none. Exceptional food (e.g. the baby goat is the best meat course I've ever had anywhere) and wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly, and unpretentious service.

I would get them a gift certificate to The Source or Komi.

If you are looking for high-end recs in DC, given your Inn at Little Washington reference, I would suggest Komi, Minibar, CityZen, Citronelle, Central or Marcel's. Of those mentioned Minibar would be the most exclusive and possibly the most impressive of the six.
