Awesome suggestions! Thanks everyone. I have made a list of must visit places.

After thinking I'd be going to Kaji I crave sushi so I think I'm just going to hit up Zen and eat a whole mess of it and a good portion of sake to get the night started.

I think the next time I want to celebrate anything I'll have to try Splendido for sure.

Zen is one of my favorites. Can you request to sit at the bar? I feel like that helps make the experience.

      Chiado.

One of my favourite birthday dinners was the lobster at Starfish. Not as nearly as fancy or complicated as George, but Starfish is still a good birthday splurge in my books.

I would say either Splendido or Scaramouche. Perhaps Auberge du Pommier

I am not a fan of any Mark McEwan restaurants (North 44, ByMark, One) - I think they are all over rated and over priced.

        Happy birthday!

One of my best experiences in the city was at Colborne Lane and one of my worst was at Colborne Lane. Since Grant from the Black Hoof is now at Lucien, that's been on my radar. I don't know if the menu has changed over. It looks like the website still has the old menu. Maybe worth a try.

Apparently, Grant has already left Lucien.

            Canoe or Scaramouche!

I hould mention.. considering Hashimoto of course - any yay or nays for there are appreciated.
              Zen perhaps?

Splendido perhaps? Acadia? I've heard very mixed things about Colborne lane.. but perhaps it's worth a try.

The food quality is by far the most important thing to me, service second.. loud quite, rustic or fancy doen't matter much to me :)

                Slendido would fit the bill.
