Thanksgiving Nov 24th - open for breakfast?

Looking for a place (Tenderloin, downtown, North Beach, Chinatown?) to take my older son to breakfast after we're done volunteering at Glide next Thursday - I tried calling Dottie's but couldn't get through the phone (will keep trying) to see if they'll be open.

Bless you for volunteering. Your best bets are going to be the hotels around Union Square. A few years ago, Scala's Bistro in the Sir Francis Drake was known for its breakfast but then it de-emphasized the morning meal. With Jen Biesty at the helm now, maybe it's back on form. Campton Place is always a treat for breakfast.

Thanks for the idea! Called Campton Place and they won't be open on Thanksgiving for breakfast - but will try calling the other hotels around Union Square.

Also, just an FYI for others - Dottie's is closed Nov 22-24 (so no breakfast on Thanksgiving!) but will reopen on Friday.

Don't go to the Oak Room at the St. Francis. I have never had a good meal there. I checked yelp and it seems it hasn't changed much.

In a thread about someone arriving from SFO at 5:30 am I found out that Cafe Mason will be open and serving breakfast.

Reporting back - Went to Cafe Mason after volunteering; they were doing brisk business for Thanksgiving morning. Place was about 2/3 full by the time we left at 10am - pretty much all tourists and business travellers.

I had the Irish Benedict (2 eggs over corned beef hash) with fresh fruit; son had the Swedish Pancakes. I would say the breakfast was decent to good - not chow or destination-worthy, but fine for stopping by if you're in the neighborhood.

Service was good once I asked for a server. Bathrooms are single (one for men, one for women) but clean.
