New & lost Michelin stars in and around Rome
Two restaurants in the Province of Rome were awarded Michelin stars this morning: Pascucci al Porticciolio, an excellent fish restaurant at the port in Fiumicino received one; Oliver Glowig, the eponymous restaurant of the already-starred chef, which opened in April in Rome’s Hotel Aldrovandi, earned two. The Mirabelle in Rome’s Hotel Splendide Royal has lost its star.

re: jen kalb
I was there once this summer and found it not even one star worth. All dishes had flaws, ingredients were of questionable quality, etc. As a comparison, i ate 2 weeks ago at metamorfosi, which we thought was definitely at least one star level, but they didn't receive any yesterday.

Cheers for Pascucci, which has been one of our faves for some years now. I try to organize my trips back from the US to take AZ 611 and land on a Saturday or Sunday so Franco will meet me and we go directly to Pascucci for lunch -- wonderful way to decompress.
Nothing I have read has made me want to hurry to Glowig, so I haven't been. Our one dinner at Metamorfosi was a little disappointing in the secondi. I liked his cooking better at Pipero, in Albano. I'd certainly try it again.-----
