Hello Rhode Island Hounds. I'm traveling up the week after Thanksgiving for a couple of nights, and would like to try some of Rhode Island's best eats. I'm in Providence one night, and Newport another night., one night, if not both, I definitely would like some Italian, and would like to hear any quality recs you could provide for me for either area. The second night, anything goes, I know there are some fine restaurants in both areas, I just need some direction in making my decisions, Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Yes I've tried Casserinos, and wouldn't have any problem whatsoever doing it again, but given other solid recommendations, I'll probably try something different. Thanks for suggestions rkstrat, I'll give them a look online.

    2. Which nights of the week? Budget?

I'm thinking Wednesday in Providence, and as for budget, well, most restaurants I can work with.

Bummer. I was hoping it was a Monday so I could steer you to Pane e Vino's great monday night wine deal (50% off all bottles and glasses).

Well if it weren't the Monday after Thanksgiving...perhaps...but between ridiculous flight pricing and heavy airport traffic, I'll have to pass on Monday travel that week. Perhaps next time.

Not Italian, but for Wednesday, I don't think you can go wrong with Nick's. It likely won't be that crowded, and you can go for a tasting menu if you want to go up-budget, although any of the regular menu items will likely be great as well. There won't be all that many choices, though, depending on what's availalbe that week from his suppliers (a lot of local farms.)

I'll take a look, I love a quality tasting menu.
