Sunday Birthday Brunch for 8
Looking for a trendy restaurant for Sunday brunch for 8 people. NO buffet please. Looking for regular breakfast items with a twist, and a lively environment - great caesars would be a bonus. Downtown core only.
Are there any fun restaurants we should try? There are many old threads on Sunday brunch and I am looking for new restaurants in 2011. Also, since there are 8 of us, they must accept reservations.
If you need any more details, let me know.
It isn't new, and I wouldn't consider it trendy because it's been around too long to be considered trendy, and I don't usually use that word for places I like, but regardless, I'd still recommend the Drake for group brunches. They take reservations through www.opentable.com . Haven't ordered any Caesars there, but I like the rest of their cocktails, and I'm sure their Caesar would be decent, if not great.
You might also want to consider Globe Bistro or Globe Earth, which have also been around for a while, but do take reservations. I'd think the vibe at the Drake a little might be more happening than either Globe.
Marben also takes reservations, and was re-launched around a year ago, which might make it qualify as sort of new, and might meet your trendy requirement. I don't really dig their brunch.
The County General is a new restaurant, that has become a quick board favourite, and offers brunch, but I'd guess that they don't take reservations, and I don't know if they even have tables for 8. http://thecountygeneral.ca/

I suggest a classic like Le Select. Enough choices for those looking for a twist. If you are looking for all twist, as in rock and roll/in your face flavours/fusion/deconstruction, then go, as iMarilyn suggested, to Origin.
