Driving from Albuquerque to Santa Fe to Taos, where to stop?
Hi all! I'm going to New Mexico for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend and driving up to Taos for a little early season snowboarding (snow willing). Are there any must see detours on the way there or back I should check out? On the first day we'll be going to Santa Fe from Albuquerque and then up to Taos for a couple days and then back to Albuquerque. Ideas?

Gotta hit Frontier, ABQ's funky 24-hour joint. Unique and tasty.
For a quick bite, Blake's Lotaburger is a local chain with a more than credible green chile cheeseburger. You will see them throughout your drive.

Technically Frontier is "just" 5 a.m. to 1 a.m., but yeah, good spot. Moving south to north:
The Range (Bernalillo location only) for good New Mexican food in fun digs, in a cool little town.
Bobcat Bite just SE of Santa Fe for a canonical green chile cheeseburger.
Rancho de Chimayo for nicely done New Mexican food in a beautiful setting.
Search the board for tons more info on ABQ, Santa Fe, and Taos.
