New Denton restaurants
It seems quite a few restaurants have opened recently in Denton...some chains or small chains and lots of them near the square.
Out near the newest Kroger, there's Mi Taza, a latin cafe. I haven't eaten much latin food, but i tried the cachapa with shredded chicken and cheese and loved it. Anyone that knows more about the cuisine been? Is it a fair or poor representation? They've got some other general tex-mex items on the menu, but here's the link. http://mitazalatincafe.com/#/?section...
Some of the other openings include
Burguesa Burger (coming soon
Seven Mile Cafe
Cartwright's Ranch House
Denton Square Donuts
Any other new places, especially locally owned, that have opened lately? Does anyone know anything about Seven Mile Cafe? I haven't been to Cartwright's but it sounds very similar to a Babe's concept. Loco Cafe and Denton Square Donuts have already become part of my regular rotation.

I am not sure Mellow Mushroom is open yet....They look closed on a Saturday night two weeks ago when I went for a concert at Dan's Silver Leaf as did Fuzzy's and Roosters....shame not to capture the late night crowd.
Burgesa is just a burger with a bean tostada...maybe some other combinations but still nothing to go out of your way for.
Loco Cafe is slowly spreading in popularity I know have friends from Dallas making the trip for breakfast after I told them about it.
Don't know anything about Seven Mile or Cartwrights
Chuy's....I would say skip and just go to Taco Lady...you will get out of there for cheaper and you won't have to eat rice and beans.
Weinberger's.....sandwich shop specializing on Chicago style deli's....they have the ubiquitous Vienna beef dogs on poppy seed buns and sandwiches that sound good but something about each one has an element that throws off the balance.
Love Shack....glad it is in Denton....local business for burgers and will draw fans of Tim Love there. It is good but not great but it sure draws the people in and that is good for downtown.
Denton Square what else can you say, they are like Hypnotic Donuts in Dallas. I am glad I got the coupon they offered a few weeks back.
Latin is such a huge cuisine, but the place looks almost entirely Venezuelan. If I were the owner I would be tossing the fajitas off the menu. And he might be wise to buy some of the Almojabanas/Milhojas from El Portal Cafe and Bakery in Carrollton.
