Looking for a bread baking instructor for library class
I am a librarian at Tigard Public Library in Washington County and a food enthusiast. I am looking for someone offer a basic bread baking class at the Library. Feel free to nominate yourself or pass on my contact information to someone you know. If I can't find someone with teaching experience, I might just wing it myself.
We typically pay an honorarium to our presenters. We can limit the class size by requiring sign-up, but I would want it to be fairly inclusive, maybe capping it at 30 people. We can't actually cook in our public area, but we can do mixing and kneading. I imagine a very basic one-hour class with mixing, kneading, and samples (if the instructor has a food-handler's license). The library would supply ingredients, and participants would bring their own containers to take home their dough.
If you'd prefer to contact me directly, you can email charles at tigard dash or.gov
Contact your local Food Bank!! OFB does great Nutrition Ed./cooking classes - if they can't provide an instructor, they can recommend someone. Call Ginny Sorenson, Ed. Programs Mgr. at 503-282-0555 x2281
Here's a warning though, doing this in a non-approved for food facility may be problematic (though I am betting that you can sponsor it at the kitchen at the Oregon Food Bank in Washington County with that honorarium).
