Best Biscuit in the Triangle

t
Tom from Raleigh Nov 14, 2011 11:26 AM

I've must have eaten a million biscuits in my time here in the Triangle. In fact there are few foods I'm more fond of than a well-made breakfast biscuit containing fatty protein and such. I've sampled widely at Bojangles, Biscuitville, Taylor's, Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen on so on. Many have been good, some have been excellent but none have been better (or more expensive) than the pastrami, provolone and banana pepper biscuit I had this past Saturday from Neal's Deli.

I've had several biscuits from Neal's Deli in the past. Their house-made pastrami is always a treat. They must have changed up their biscuit recipe, because the biscuit itself is lighter and shorter than it was on previous visits. The density and heft of their biscuits had always been a drawback in my eyes, but I didn't realize how much a change would improve the overall product.
