Lunds/Byerlys Bakeries: Best Kolachky this side of Prague and Chicago !
Their Kolachky "danish" are nearly as good as those served in Berwyn's Riverside Family Restaurant!

especially the poppyseed. You might enjoy the walnut Potica in the freezer (Ridgedale store, not sure about others), made by Sunshine (or something close to that). Very close to something my Slovak grandmother made.

re: stymie
The Sunshine Potica is excellent, and from folks whose opinions I respect when it comes to Potica, the Sunshine stuff (they're from Hibbing) is the closest to the Slovak grandmother stuff.
A close second is the potica from Mel-O-Glaze. They make it to order, takes a couple days of advance notice. Very good stuff.

re: shoo bee doo
Yes, Sunrise, not Sunshine. Apologies to Sunrise Bakery. Thanks for correcting the error.
My significant other is very particular about potica, Sunrise Bakery being her standard bearer (her family was raised in Chisholm, so Sunrise Bakery potica is a childhood holiday remembrance). The Mel-O-Glaze version isn't exact, but good enough to satisfy the urge when the Sunrise Bakery version can't be found.
