Sunday Brunch in PG / Monterey / Carmel

My family and I will be gathering in Pacific Grove for a week : 6-8 adults and 2 toddlers. My sister in law mentioned going to an incredible brunch (probably expensive) in San Francisco during her last visit and wanted a similar experience... is there any chance we could find such a meal around the PG area, or do we have to drive up to SF for that? If not PG, anything closer than SF, like Palo Alto? My parents generally prefer a buffet brunch, but I am open to any and all suggestions. We are coming in from New York, Paris, and Taipei, so I think the group has a fairly sophisticated palate. That being said, we're Chinese, so no more than $60 or $70 a head! I'd love to hear what you have to say... anywhere from Pacific Grove to SF...

Thanks!!

Where in SF did you go last? That would give us an idea of what you are looking for.
My suggestion for a real Carmel/PG/Monterey experience would be the Mission Ranch. It may not live up to " a fairly sophisticated palate", but I think you would enjoy the pastoral views and the casual atmosphere.

Another, and a bit more upscale, might be one of the Pebble Beach venues. Check this site also.

Thanks! I wasn't at this "incredible brunch", so I don't know what my sister-in-law felt was so impressive. I'm not quite as picky, but I do want my family to be happy. I like that Mission Ranch has omelets to order - my mom loves that!
