Ramen Sanshiro - Late night secret (kinda) ramen spot

has anyone been to Ramen Sanshiro? apparently every night from 11pm till close, Seo Japanese turns into a ramen restaurant serving two kinds of ramen: salt or soy sauce. the idea sounds interesting, would love to hear some reviews.

  1. I went there in July and it was not great great, but fairly good. Their 'Mini Charsiu Don (braised pork rice bowl)' was well balanced between pork fat and meat. 'Jidori Shio Yaki (grilled chicken) was savoury, and 'Shio Ramen (salt-flavoured ramen)' had nicely clean taste. I was glad to find a decent ramen place that remains open till late. They accept cash only.

comparison to other ramen spots in the city? what's your best?

Ramen Sanshiro's shio ramen had fairly good soup base, decent charsiu, and pretty firm noodle texture, but it was not amazing. For me, Shanshiro's beauty is that it is open till very late unlike other ramen houses in town.

Although in a different category of ramen, I like Hide-Chan Ramen, which is Hakata style. I like their kuromayu ramen, which is basically tonkotsu ramen topped with black garlic oil. Yummy~! Ippudo is another favorite of mine, but I always have to wait in line. For me, these two are better than Misoya, Menchanko-Tei, Men Kuitei, or Sapporo.
