Dim Sum for some, but not only, vegetarians and kids
Looking for weekend morning dim sum for a group of 8 with 5 kids and some vegetarians. The rest of us like the meat dishes, so the otherwise-appealing-looking Vegetarian Dim Sum is out, but would like there to be more than just vegetable dumplings for the veg cohort. Cart-based preferred.
My usual dim sum go-to are the Golden Unicorn or Jing Fong which serve my interests just fine - I've never delved much into their vegetarian offerings so they may be fine if we know what to look/ask for or order, but perhaps there are other such places with more vegetarian options (literally) rolling around. Thanks hounds!

Dim Sum Go Go - veggie dumplings are stars: mushroom (amazing), snow pea leaf, green dumplings - you can't go wrong. Carnivores - don't miss the duck dumplings.
Also kids love the "go go burgers in steam buns" (not veggie) served with taro fries - fun!
No carts, just freshly cooked to order.-----

The problem with carts is that you risk not getting access to the vegetarian items, or possible miscommunication of your needs. I'd stick with a menu base place like Dim Sum Go Go or Red Egg.
You should probably order a vegetarian based noodle dish or something, regardless of where you go. That way the vegetarians can have at least one dish that isn't a vegetable based dumpling.

I had gone to Red Egg very recently with a vegetarian friend and we were able to order an entire meal worth of vegetarian dim sum for both of us, which goes to show you what a nice vegetarian selection they have. Unfortunately, they do not use carts.

re: kathryn
i'd second dim sum go go. i think they're kind of known for having good vegetarian dumplings and i've taken vegetarians there who have been impressed. also i don't really do vegetarian so i can attest for their carnivore offerings as well (although i haven't been back for some years). they are also accommodating for large groups and children.
