Best / closest handmade tortillas to Wmsburg
Short of Nixtamal.
Closer options in Bushwick or near(er) Queens?
Grateful for any tips. Thx in advance.

There's a very good place in Coney Island, around the corner from Nathan's that makes handmade tortillas for their quesadillas. Not sure if they use them for their tacos. It's a large stand with outdoor seating on Bowery Street. Not sure if they're open this time of year.

Tres Hermanos Tortilla Factory in Bushwick. They supply many of the Mexican bodegas in the W'burg/ Bushwick area. Also make decent tacos.

re: Silverjay
I guess you're right. I'm not sure how to describe distinction what I'm looking for then -- something more like Nixtamal or the places all over SF Mission or East LA where you can buy "homemade" tortillas warm in a bag than Tres Hermanos or Chinantla. (Not putting latter down, I buy them in delis all the time. Just wanted a slight step up for this particular cooking project...)

re: Jack Barber
Are you asking for a tortilleria that makes tortillas from fresh masa (nixtamalized from freshly ground corn), rather than reconstituted maseca? I think Nixtamal is the only place in NYC for that. Also, looking at the menu from Homemade Taqueria, it looks like they only use maseca like everyone else.

re: Silverjay
On another thread I had asked about this place http://www.homemadetaqueria.com/ w/ allegedly hecho a mano. Slightly less of a haul than Nixtamal so may give it a try w/ Nixtamal as fallback.
Unless a Bushwick option presents itself next couple hours.
