if anyone can suggest the best elephant bar to go to that would be great. is there any significant difference between the three locations? i want excitement and for it to be fun. thanks! or any other suggestions for a restaraunt.

Gee I read the Yelp reviews for Emeryville and they weren't that good. I liked this from one of the better ones "Especially for the people who don't like the tentacles in normal calamari. At Elephant Bar they come in nice rectangular pieces that have the nice flavor of calamari without the odd shapes."

---> elephant bar =/= chow. and should be inquired about on the chains board. i don't know much about emeryville, but dublin has the shangri la of asian food strip malls in ulferts center. everything there is good, including the spectacular koi garden and just koi. there's great indian and afghani food in fremont. we have much, much better options in the bay area than elephant bar.

EB510 asks a legitimate question about a Bay Area restaurant, albeit a chain, but. If what you say is correct we should have no comments on this board about In n Out, 5 Guys, Morton's Ruths Chris etc.and that is just not so. Besides it was suggested to her on this board.

I have been to all 3 locations and the food is exactly the same at all 3. As far as some type of happening bar scene if that is the excitement you are looking for, you will not find it in Dublin or Fremont. It's a very family friendly restaurant and not one which you would use the word excitement to describe the scene or the food.

The food is fine. It's sort of that weird not good and not bad category. I meet friends there fairly often because they have something for everyone and my friends like the fact that the calorie count is printed on the menu. The drinks are ok but if I were looking for really good food and or excitement, I would certainly head elsewhere.

I believe this posting is a follow-on the an earlier posting asking for a place to have a dad's birthday dinner with mom and 3 year old in tow. OP didn't want to travel to SF and was looking for a place in the East Bay along the lines of the Rainforest Cafe.

Elephant Bar may be just the call then. It certainly will work for the 3 year old and definitely has much better food then Rainforest Cafe but then again, it would be hard to find worse.

There is also one in Hayward, near Southland Mall. I had a horrible experience at the one in Dublin. Not too busy and their service was horrible! The Fremont one is good. I go to the Hayward one more often because I live there and their service and food is good too.
