Italian restaurant between 6th Ave & 8th Ave

looking for somewhere priced in the midrange to eat at on January 1st
parameters are north of 42nd & south of 57th.
if north of 57th St, I'd prefer something with a really good view of Central Park or Columbus Circle

I'm not interested in Le Bernardin and I already have reservations at 21 Club for another day.
I'm considering Ceci or Osteria al Doge, but I'd prefer something north of 47th...
I just wanna get from Brooks Atkinson Theatre to New York City Center in under three hours on foot.

    Walk on over to 56th and 9th Ave to Puttanesca. Great food @ reasonable prices. Fancy but not fancy schmancy like Le Bernardin.

        It appears, you're in luck. OpenTable is showing reservations available at Puttanesca on January 1st.
