Does homemade mustard need to be canned? using traditional canning methods?

as usual, i have nothing constructive to tell you about this.
    however...
we received homemade mustard last year for Christmas from one of my neighbors and i still dream of this mustard. it will go down as one of my all time favorite food gifts i have received. right in front of the banana bread that was so good i threw it in the trash. and then took it out of the trash and put it down the garbage grinder to be safe. ;) i was pregnant. haha!
so i guess the moral of my story is... GREAT GIFT!!!!

The Ball Blue Book has canning instructions for mustards, but they don't offer that info online. Strange. I'll give you the regular canning advice. If you want to make a shelf stable mustard to give as a gift, make sure you use an approved recipe. Otherwise, just tell everyone to keep it in the fridge.
