Restaurant for Saturday - Crispo? Asiate?

  • 3

I'm coming to NY last minute this weekend and am looking for a place for Saturday night. I've scoured the boards and most places I've tried are booked. I'm open to anything, I just want a great overall experience. I've found that Asiate and Crispo still have openings, and considering Il Cortile as well. Any other ideas? I lived in NYC 5 years ago and am from Texas- very excited to be coming back for a quick weekend!!

  1. For last minute reservations, where are you looking? Calling? Or just on OpenTable? Are you willing to dine at 6pm or 10pm? Some restaurants do not place all of their reservations on OpenTable, too.

Here's a thread with a lot of buzzy places that save tables for walk-ins

Some good places for last minute reservations are those that only take them same day OR only via phone OR online but not through OpenTable:
    Kyo Ya
    Txikito
Fedora -- only takes same day reservations
    Peels
    Prune
    The Beagle

Here are some restaurants we love which, acc. to OpentTable, have early reservations available on Saturday.

        Tocqueville - 6, 6:30, 7 p.m.
        Ciano - 6 p.m.
        Oceana - 5:15 and 6:30 p.m.
        La Silhouette - 5 and 5:30 p.m.

All have stellar food, excellent service, and lovely ambiance. They are not hip or buzzy.
