Saturday breakfast in Albany

I am driving through Albany on my way to Boston and want to have something quick and casual to eat in town.

I will pass through very early in the morning e.g. 7 or 8 o'clock.

Any good diners or pastry shops that might be open this early on a Saturday (this weekend)????

While you are passing through there is a great breakfast spot, it is Cafe Madison located on upper Madison ave since you will there around the time they open which is 7:30 you should miss the crowd of hipster college students that come later. if you just google them you can see the everyday menu but once you arrive they will give you one that will have about 5 or so specials go for one of those! Have a great morning!

So, I stopped in on my way from Syracuse to Boston. There was metered parking right out front and plenty of seats available. The service was fine. I sat at the bar which turned out to be a bad idea because it is impossible to get your place anywhere near you because of how the edge of the bar is designed.

I had hot cocoa which came in a cute glass mug with a handle but was not good. I added Splenda.

There are a few items that were not on the website so be prepared to have a few more options to choose from.

My choice was the "Roasted Berry Crepes". It was okay. I added some salt.

The best thing about the restaurant is the bathroom. Hands down the nicest I have ever seen in a similar facility.

Miss Albany Diner isn't what it used to be, but it is still good and open early. Also a lot of nostalgia and near the highway.

I miss eating the georgian eggs like no one's business, now that I can't eat eggs :)
