pre/post theater dinner in Hell's Kitchen/Theater District
Okay guys here are my options!
I culled this list from a random selection of Italian restaurants in Hell's Kitchen/Theater District.
I wanted to stay on 8th or 9th Ave, between 45th & 55th St.
I'm just your average restaurant patron - I want food, not art - however I don't need large, oversized portions, as I will be going to another event right after.
Please help me choose from cascina, il melograno or stecchino.

Cascina
647 Ninth Avenue, New York, NY 10036
Il Melograno
501 W 51st St, New York, NY 10019
Stecchino
765 9th Ave, New York, NY 10019
Haven't been to Cascina and Il Melograno. Stecchino was pretty good, though my meal was quite a while ago.
What about Trattoria Trecolori? Really well-priced Italian restaurant, solid food that 's easy on your wallet.

I plan on going to Stecchino post-theater for dessert/drinks.
Ruled out Cascina for dinner & called Il Melograno but they dont know if they'll be open! *facepalm*
I didn't feel the ambiance of Trattoria Trecolori was what I was looking for.

Chez Napoleon is a good French bistro. However, the o.p. has made it clear that s/he's looking for an Italian restaurant and has actually picked one. See this thread: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/817045
