I sent an email to PC asking when this would be available this Xmas. Just got a phonemail message to say "discontinued".

Can't believe it. Always looked forward to these.

That, in combination of actual sightings of the product, probably shows the CSR was incorrect.

I was at the the Super Store, Don Mills/Eglinton, yesterday and saw quite a few so grabbed them and stocked up.

Oddly enough, the packages that I see in the Richmond Hill location have the new packaging prominently proclaiming "Limited Time Only" and the product is still listed in their website. Perhaps the person who responded to your email was misinformed?

Certainly sounds like she was misinformed. I saw loads of them at Bayview Village today.

I saw the sticky toffee puddings last week at the Loblaws at St Clair and Bathurst. Do you mean the ones that are in the frozen section and are sold in packs of two?

It is also very easy to make: you will be surprised, Helen - any number of good recipes on JoyofBaking or Epicurious. Far better than PC imho!

Now here's a question: is there any restaurant that serves MALVA pudding? the S. African (I think) equivalent of Sticky Toffee but somehow less cloying.

There was a great recipe for malva pudding in either the Globe or National Post during last year's FIFA World Cup. I have made it a few times with great success.

Call Weezie's. They used to have malva pudding regularly. It was delicious.
