50th Birthday - Day in NYC - West Village Area

Four college friends spending day in NYC to celebrate a 50th birthday. Doing 8 pm show @ Duplex on Christopher Street in West Village. Looking for casual but fun places for lunch and dinner. Can be any where in area - Meatpacking, West Village, etc....
Any food works - but definitely looking for sushi option for one of the meals. Want to stay under $25 - $30/entree for dinner. We can have fun in a paper bag!!

Maybe Babbo for the birthday dinner? Most main courses are under $30 but it's more dressy than casual.

So $25-30 entrees for dinner. What about lunch?

When is this trip? What day of the week will you be here?

Are you willing to wait for at table or are you going to make reservations for your meals?

Any preferred cuisines besides sushi? IMO great nigiri sushi places are usually not the loud, fun ones....

Four girls if it matters. Not looking to spend huge amonts of money on both meals...so probably cheaper but good food options for lunch.
