Wedding/Dinner/Outside

Hi everyone,
I'm a recent transplant to Chicago and I get almost all of my restaurant suggestions from you guys. So I figured I'd ask about this:

I'm getting married in the Spring. We're just going to do something at City Hall or something, but we want to have a dinner party for friends and family. We'd love to have it at a restaurant, but we need a place with a back terrace that will let us rent the whole thing out. Something beautiful like Piccolo Sogno, but since we're both new here we don't really know of any other places like that.

Hopefully you wizards can help out!

    I don't know if Northpond would work for you, but it's stunningly beautiful, and has a separate room that might work depending on how many people you have.

      The number of people will be a major determinant of whether any particular place will or won't work for you. So will the date (particularly the day of the week). Those will be the first two questions you'll need to decide, because they're the first two things any place you talk to will ask.

        Oh, I'm an idiot. I forgot to put that info in. It will be a Saturday night in the Spring. (Probably May. The date isn't locked yet.)

        Not too many people. 40 tops I would say.

        Shaggy, I love the look of Northpond. I haven't been yet so how does the outside area work? Do they just open the doors or do they have an actual outside seating area when the weather is nice?

          In case you haven't experienced the delights of our spring, try for late May and have a plan B in case it rains and is ugly out. Spring is a wonderful time of the year but you can be in a tank top one day and a fleece twelve hours later. Another question, will people be coming in from all over the city or from out of town so will be all in one general area (hotel wise)?

          Now for an actual recommendation and you'll need to call the restaurant to confirm but:

          Anteprima in Andersonville

          Or Cafe Brauer in the Zoo (might be pricey tho

          )

            Bistro Campagne is also a nice option:
