Best Private Dining Space for 8 people?

I'm looking to book a private (or private-ish) dining space for a dinner for 8 people, preferably downtown, but flexible if the food is great. Any suggestions? I've found spaces at a lot of restaurants for 20+ people, but the options seem more limited once you get below that number... Thanks!

Check out the private table at Barbuto. More casual than the places mentioned so far though.

Blue Hill has a nice back garden room that would be appropriate for your party size

The East Room at Per Se has a view of the park and holds a maximum of 10 people.

Price range? When will this event be? What type of restaurant are you looking for?

Not incredibly expensive - Per Se (below) is probably above what we're looking at. But pricey is okay if the food is good (to give you an example, Blue Hill/Grammercy Tavern would have worked if their rooms were smaller)

When I booked last February the food & beverage minimum at Per Se was actually lower than Gramercy Tavern for a party of 8-10. They may have raised the prices but I think it's worth a phone call.

If you're also considering lunch, Eleven Madison Park's private dining room is surprisingly reasonable, though not as intimate as Per Se.
