new policy at torrisi -- what is happening?

  • 1

According to their web site, they are now taking reservations for a $125 prix fixe menu which will begin on 12/1. Seatings at 6 PM aqnd 8 PM.

They say this is an extended menu and that the original no-reservations $60(?) menu will be available on a first come first serve basis. They say they will take names for the walk-in each day at 5 PM. (It used to be 5:30).

Has anyone been there since this policy changed?

  1. Torrisi is currently closed. They have not yet reopened with the format change, as they are more focused on the their new casual spot, Parm, which is only a few days old.

"But the opening will result in changes at Torrisi Italian Specialties next door. There will be a $125 tasting menu for which reservations will be taken, in addition to the regular, walk-in prix fixe. Rather than offering sandwiches at lunch, Torrisi will will serve the regular prix fixe and take reservations. The display cases there will be moved out to allow for more comfortable seating.

Parm, 248 Mulberry Street (Prince Street), (212) 993-7189. A la carte items are $5 to $25. Open for lunch and dinner.
Torrisi Italian Specialties, 250 Mulberry Street, will close from Nov. 6 through 11, and reopen with a four-course $60 prix fixe at lunch and dinner, and a 15- to 20-course tasting menu for $125 for dinner."
