Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill - best delivery options? (any cuisine)
Moved to the neighborhood over the summer and loved roaming around to try all the new food...But, now that it's dark at 5pm, delivery beckons. Any great suggestions around? For context: so far we have really loved Fragole (oddly better for delivery than dine-in), and highly enjoyed Em until they mysteriously closed. Did not like Oaxaca and found Palmyra to be so-so. Any and all recs welcome and appreciated! (we're smack in the middle of CG if that informs a delivery radius at all.) Thanks!

We moved to Cobble Hill from Brooklyn Heights over the summer. Clark's used to be my place for diner delivery. What's my best option now? Is the New St. Clair any good? Park Plaza diner will deliver to me but their food is disgusting.

Hm, I thought I was the one asking the questions! Thanks folks for your recommendations, all of which I look fwd to trying - anyone know what happened to Em Thai? Has been apparently shuttered since last weekend I believe. JennS: I've never ordered from or eaten at Cobble Hill Coffee Shop, but pass by often and it looks cute/seems to have a strong following, so you might try there.

we don't get too much delivery either, but we like calexico for mexican, waterfalls for middle eastern, and savoia for italian. we've also had delivery from michael & ping's (chinese). needless to say, i wish there was good chinese delivery in the area.

Pizza Cotta-Bene on third ave would probably deliver to you (they deliver to us and were a good ways down into gowanus from them). the salads and pastas have been just ok, but they make a really good pie - definitely a step up from most places if not quite in the fancy category - i personally dont care for lucali's pies anyway. cotto bene uses lioni fresh mozz on their pizzas and the rest of the ingredients are equally first-rate.

Frankies 457 delivers during the week. Queen is our favorite but may not deliver depending how far down you are.
Sorry to be a downer but what i've discovered after living in the neighborhood for 5 years is that generally the best food you can get is from restaurants that dont deliver, or that youre just best off getting your own groceries and ingredients from the italian or middle eastern specialty stores. Or, suck it up and go out for one of the really good meals one can have in our neighborhood like Hibino, Seersucker or Lucali.
There's plenty of perfectly decent delivery food if you must order in... thai (em's side menu, ghang, sesame), sushi (osaka, kyoto, ki), and middle eastern on atlantic (theyre all generally good though can be rather consistent)
