Drive between Vegas and LA

I have a friend who is flying to LA and then driving to Vegas for part of her vacation. Any recommendations for chow-worthy restaurants on the way?

Stop off in Lenwood (Outlet) after Barstow for gas and to rest. There is a Harvey House, Denny's, and Big Boy's. Also, Burger King, Mc Donalds and a few others. Best bet is to wait until you get to Vegas for better options.

If its my choice I stop for the Mad Greek, but usually I just hold it in until I get to vegas. She might like In-n-out in barstow too if she's from out of town which is where people usually make a pit stop, its a really busy one though.

Don't laugh, but try the Del Taco in Barstow. For whatever reason, it is a lot better than the other Del Tacos. You can do a search for "Del Taco Barstow" and find the numerous blogs about it.

Del Taco started out in Barstow, and at least two of the outlets there are operated by the founders.

once you go past the San Gabriel Valley (alhambra, rowland heights, etc), you are pretty much limited to chains and diners.

We usually don't stop for food since it's not that long of a drive, but if you must stop, the only place I can recommend is The Mad Greek at 72112 Baker Blvd.

After spending 1 hour waiting for the gyro @ Mad Greek, I think the best thing to do is pick up some sandwiches before heading out of LA.
